Fabrizio Saccomanni

Fabrizio Manni Sacco ( born November 22, 1942 in Rome ) is an Italian economist. From 2006 to 2013 he was Director General of the Banca d' Italia. From April 2013 to February 2014 he was Economic and Finance Ministers in the Cabinet Letta.

Career

Saccomanni studied at the Bocconi University in Milan and at Princeton University in New Jersey. In 1967, he joined the Bank of Italy, which he also represented the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, at the Bank for International Settlements and the European Union. From 2003 to 2006 he was also Vice- President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. As Director General of the Bank of Italy in 2013, he was also President of the Insurance Supervisory Authority IVASS. Sacco Manni is a member of management or supervisory bodies of several scientific organizations and societies.

On April 28, 2013, the non-party Fabrizio Manni Sacco was appointed Economic and Finance Ministers of Italy. When his appointment was emphasized that he is one of the non-partisan " technocrats " after the Cabinet Letta replaced a previous cabinet, which consisted of only non-party ministers.
