Fabrizio Serbelloni

Fabrizio Serbelloni (* November 4, 1695 in Milan, † December 7, 1775 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal.

Life

Fabrizio Serbelloni Milan came from a patrician family. He studied at the University of Pavia, where he also received his doctorate for Doctor iuris utriusque. 1726, he was Grand Inquisitor in Malta.

He was ordained a priest in 1731 and the same year was appointed Titular Archbishop of Patras. From 1735 to 1738 was settled nuncio in Cologne. As nuncio in the Polish royal court from 1738 to 1746 and as nuncio at the Imperial Court in Vienna from 1746 to 1754, he represented the interests of the Holy See.

1753 Fabrizio Serbelloni was elevated to cardinal. He was assigned the titular church of Santi Ambrogio e Carlo. In 1763 he exchanged it with the titular church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. In 1764 he exchanged again and although the titular church of Santo Stefano al Monte Celio. He then worked as a legacy. He was appointed bishop of Albano, and in 1774 bishop of Ostia in 1763.

He died at the age of 80 years in Rome and is buried in the church of Santi Ambrogio e Carlo title.
