Fabrizio Tescari

Fabrizio Tescari ( born April 6, 1969 in Asiago ) is an Italian former Alpine skier. He drove almost exclusively slalom race, rarely giant slalom.

Biography

Tescari began his career with inserts in FIS races and in the European Cup. At the Junior World Championship 1987 in halls he just missed out on a medal. In the 1990/91 season, he was third in the European Cup slalom standings. The first World Cup points he brought on 10 December 1991 as the 15th of the slalom in Sestriere. Less than a year later, on 29 November 1992 he won the same place as a complete surprise to the World Cup slalom.

After this victory Tescari was hyped up by the Italian media as " Alberto Tomba new ", but he was never able to exploit due to several injuries and a high default rate its potential. Although he had over a dozen placements in the top ten, but remained a fourth place in January 1998 in Schladming his second-best result. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1994 and 1998 Tescari participated in the slalom, but did not both times to the finish. With four world championships in which he participated from 1993 to 1999, he came only once in eleventh of the slalom in 1996 to the finish. End of the season 2000/ 01 he resigned from professional sports.

Tescari is married to the former alpine skier Morena Gallizio.
