Face Dances is an album by British rock band The Who. It was released by Polydor in March 1981. It was produced by Bill Szymczyk in the " Shepperton Studios " in London. Face Dances was the first album of the group after the death of Keith Moon. Kenney Jones, the former drummer of the Small Faces, replacing him on the album.

Cover

In charge of the design of the cover was Peter Blake who created the famous cover of the Beatles album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The cover of the album shows four images of each band member, which were painted by well-known British artists. Viewed from top left to bottom right, these were Bill Jacklin, Tom Philips, Colin Self, Richard Hamilton, Mike Andrews, Allen Jones, David Inshaw, David Hockney, Clive Barker, RB Kitaj Howard Hodgkin, Patrick Caulfield, Peter Blake, Joe Tilson Patrick Procktor and David Tindle.

In the album, a poster of the album cover was to be found. In the first edition of the UK version also was found with a brief portrait of the painter, a 16 -page book.
