Fachhochschule Lübeck

The study at the Fachhochschule Lübeck focuses on interdisciplinary, sought after by business degree programs.

History

The Fachhochschule Lübeck looks back on a history up to 1808, in which the company, founded a school of navigation, the navigation school later Lübeck on the Kaisertor for the carriage of community service in Lübeck. The university was created in 1961 as the National Engineering School of Lübeck. They began in 1962 offering courses for Mechanical, Electrical and Physical Engineering. In 1969, the three Lübeck engineering schools were " for Technology and Maritime PWSZ Lübeck " merged to form and renamed in 1973 to today current Fachhochschule Lübeck. Thus, the actual roots of the University date back further than that of the University of Lübeck, which was only founded in 1964.

  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Industrial Biotechnology
  • Plastics Technology

International Cooperation

Special reputation, the FHL obtained by the existing ten years in 2005 exchange program with the MSOE (Milwaukee School of Engineering ) of the study program in Electrical Engineering. Furthermore, there is a successful international partnership in industrial engineering and in mechanical engineering. More cooperation and exchange programs take place with the following countries: China, Denmark, Finland, France, Ghana, Ireland, Latvia, Sweden, Spain and the United States. Particularly noteworthy are the collaborations in the North and Baltic Sea region. Under the title BeltScience a research and regional university network with the " Roskilde University " is established, under the title " Baltfood " creates a knowledge and technology platform with 11 other partners in the Baltic region. In addition, the training in the maritime cluster in the projects "Northern Maritime University " and " KNow -ME " is being promoted.

Studying online

The online degree programs emerged from the federal lead project Virtuelle Fachhochschule ( VFH ), which began on 1 September 1998 and was promoted by the end of 2003. Significantly involved in this project were seven universities from different federal states, which joined together at a University network and have developed under the auspices of the University of Applied Sciences Lübeck online degree programs. The result is a Bachelor 's and Master's degree program and a computer science undergraduate media and a further education course of study industrial engineering. The first students were able to start in the winter semester 2001/2002 with the online study. The special feature of this study is that students can acquire 80% of your skills online and only 20% of the course must be completed in presence. This opened up whole new target groups access to studies, particularly people want to study time-and location-independent for different reasons. By further project support the virtual network was further expanded and numerous continuing education courses to be developed.
