Faciens misericordiam

Tumefaciens misericordiam is a papal bull of Pope Clement V, they dated August 12, 1308, and was directed against the Knights Templar. With the cop opened the Pope, after the hearing of 72 -confessed Templars, the Templars process.

Commission of Inquiry against the Order

With the bull Regnas Caelis in 1308 Pope Clement V had 1310 an ecumenical council to Vienne convened by the procedure against the Knights Templar, to grant legal validity (Note: The council took place only in 1311 ). Simultaneously with this bull, he led the establishment of a commission of inquiry, in it he listed indictment and ordered detailed article on the Functioning of the Diocesan Commission. This Commission should first gather all the information about the order and present the result on the proposed council. This bull is also a charge on the Knights Templar before the council, which would ultimately decide the survival of the Templars. This bull of Pope ordered not only the action against the Templars in France, but he shall convene a Synod of Bishops to Mainz on. He also presented here establish the procedure for the diocese of Mainz and summoned the archbishops of Cologne, Trier, and Magdeburg, as well as the bishops of Basel and Konstanz to Mainz. Furthermore, ordered Clement V that during this Synod the administration of the Templars goods will completed by the participating archbishops. All persons who had in the meantime acquired goods for safekeeping, were asked to return them immediately to the church.
