Faik Pasha

Faik Suleyman Pasha (* 1876 in Istanbul, † 1916) was a Turkish general for times of Ottoman Empire.

Military career

Suleiman entered the Military Academy Mekteb -i Harbiye on May 16, 1894. In 1899 he graduated in the rank of captain. In 1904 he was promoted to commander of the 2 units in Thessaloniki. At 38, he was promoted to lieutenant general in 1914.

Freemasonry

Faik Suleyman Pasha was 1910-1912 and 1915-1918, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey. However, he was able to exercise his duties as Grand Master only until his death on the Caucasian front. From 1916 to 1918 until the new election represented him Mehmet Cevat Bey.

With the outbreak of the Balkan War of the previous Grand Master Talat Pasha resigned as fully took him his position as Interior Minister of Turkey to complete. He was succeeded by Lieutenant General Suleiman Faik Bey, grand master of the Masonic Lodge Sija i scarlet in Kadiköj. From this point, the Young Turk impact of the Grand Lodge resigned getting stronger. Political struggles in Parliament led to the denunciation of Freemasonry by the political opposition, the translations of the works from the Taxil hoax which has been distributed.

For successor Suleiman Faik Bey Dr. Mehmed Ali Bey was chosen.
