Fairing

A fairing is a technical panel that is attached in order to achieve a streamlined shape, and hence a lower air resistance.

Fairings are now used in almost all aircraft and many vehicles such as locomotives and motorcycles.

As a rule, forms the body or fuselage streamlining. But there are additionally fitted linings, eg for bicycles ( velomobile ).
