Fairlight (group)
Fairlight ( FLT abbreviation ) is a warez and cracking group that has been active since 1987. Emerged this group is from another group called "West Coast Crackers " (WCC ). Mainly, the group has started the cracking of C64 games and exchange of various cracked games. Since the beginning of the grouping also legal demos on the C64 and the Amiga from Fairlight were created. Early 2000, was the "official " legal Demo Section of FLT for the PC.

These sections operate largely autonomously, yet are all networked extensively with each other.
Fairlight has - like many other warez groups also - crackers, coders, and so-called supplier ( supplier ). This Supplier lead the group to the games. Some of them work for example in game magazines and can therefore provide the games for a long time to download before publication.
History
Fairlight was founded on 17 April 1987 by " Strider ", "Black Shadow" and " Gollum " after aufsplitteten the West Coast Crackers in the groups Relax and Fairlight.
The "Operation Fastlink " has been planned for months by various law enforcement agencies in advance and carried out on 21 and 22 April 2004. This operation was directed against, among others Fairlight and their sub- sections.
End of April 2008, the U.S. press was noted that the current Chairman of the Republican Party in California, Tony Krvaric, in the 80's was involved in the founding of the group under the pseudonym " Strider ".
