Fairtrade Town

Fair Trade City is a certificate issued by a recognized Fairtrade certification body (eg "Fair Trade Foundation " in the UK, " TransFair Canada" in Canada, " TransFair - Association for the promotion of fair trade in the" Third world "eV", Cologne) is awarded and is committed to promoting fair trade certified goods in the context of fair trade.

History

The Fair Trade Town campaign was launched in Garstang, Lancashire in 2001 under the initiative of Bruce Crowther, a local Oxfam supporters, and the Garstang Oxfam Group to life. Criteria

Several Fairtrade labeling initiatives jointly established formal guidelines for certification. In order to obtain recognition as a Fair Trade City, a city must meet five criteria:
