Fairytale (Alexander Rybak song)

Fairytale is an English-language, folkloric pop song of the Norwegian singer and violinist Alexander Rybak. It is the winning song of the Euro Vision Song Contest 2009 held in Moscow.

Euro Vision Song Contest

The song " Fairytale" was selected as part of the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix ESC preliminary decision on 21 February 2009 and received while a record number of points. In the course of the ESC 2009, Alexander Rybak qualified with his music tracks via the second semi-final first for the finals. This he was able to win with 387 points. Both the score and the lead over the runner-up is a record in the history of Grand Prix.
