Falciano del Massico

Falciano del Massico is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3666 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Caserta in Campania. The village is located approximately 33.5 km west-northwest of Caserta at the foot of the 813 meter high Monte Massico and on the shores of 90 -acre Lake Falciano. Around the lake, there is a nature reserve Riserva naturale Lake Falciano.

History

In the Roman period, the area was in the tribe of the ager Falernus.

Traffic

Since 1927 is the station of Falciano with neighboring communities Mondragone and Carinola at the Roma- Formia -Naples.

Trivia

Because of the lack of space in the cemetery of Falciano death was declared in place for prohibited in March 2012.
