Falk grove is a district of Lossatal in the northeast of the district of Leipzig in Saxony.

Geography

Falk grove is located on the western edge of the Dahlen Heath, about ten kilometers east-northeast of Wurzen. Through the south of the municipal area, the B 6 and the railway line Leipzig -Dresden lead. Through the community's Lossa flows.

History

Two Bronze Age cemeteries at Frauwalde evidence of an early settlement of the area. Falk Hain is mentioned in a document in the foundation charter at the consecration of the church in Sitzenroda in 1198. The name was derived either from German or locator Falko Götz from the Sorbian name Valko.

The place was long regarded as the headquarters of the noble family Falkenhayn.

Frauwalde was incorporated on July 1 and Heyda in the community Falk grove on 1 December 1972. On 1 April 1997 Dorn Reichenbach and Kühnitzsch were incorporated. On 1 January 1999 Thammenhain and Meltewitz were added.
