Falko Zandstra

Falko Zandstra (* December 27, 1971 in Heerenveen ) is a retired Dutch speed skater.

Zandstra was founded in 1993 in Hamar World Champion in the all around. The year before, he had already won a silver medal at the world championships. In the years 1992 and 1993, the Dutchman won in the all around competition European Championships.

At the Olympic Games in Albertville Zandstra 1992 won silver over 5000 meters and 1994 in Lillehammer bronze over 1500 meters.

Zandstra led the Peerage in 1993 for 49 days.

For his outstanding achievements in 1993, Zandstra received the Oscar Mathisen Memorial Trophy and was also voted the athlete of the year in the Netherlands.
