Parish

Falmouth is the capital of Trelawny Parish, Jamaica, located approximately 30 miles from Montego Bay. It is named after the birthplace of the former Governor Sir William Trelawny, Falmouth in England. The historic city center is regarded as one of the best preserved in the Caribbean. 2010, the population was 7,400 people.

History

Falmouth was founded in 1769 by Thomas Reid. It was systematically planned, broad, rectangular street pattern is still visible. Even before New York City was supplied with tap water. Urban renewal and development

The neo-gothic parsonage of the Baptist church from 1798 became the seat of the organization. Since 2011, Falmouth 's port of call for cruise ships that invest in the newly built quay and harbor area. The impact of these investments, however, remain to be seen, since only few tourists leave the ships to go ashore.
