Famagusta District

The district of Famagusta is a district of the Republic of Cyprus. Capital is de jure the same port city of Famagusta. Administrative center is the de facto community Paralimni.

The majority of the district including the main village is controlled in fact by Northern Cyprus, only a small area in the south is administered by the Republic of Cyprus. This southern part of the district has 37 738 inhabitants. The northern part of the district of Famagusta correspond to the districts Gazimağusa and İskele.

Due to the small size of the district administration also acts as the representative of the displaced residents of the de facto territory.
