Famoxadone, by reaction of 2 - (4- phenoxyphenyl ) lactate are obtained in a mixture of dichloromethane with phenoxyphenyl and 1,1 ' -carbonyldiimidazole.

Use
Famoxadone is used as an active ingredient in pesticides. It is a fungicide that acts by inhibition of mitochondrial electron transport.
In Germany, Austria and Switzerland pesticides are approved (eg, Equation Pro) containing Famoxadone as active ingredient.
