Fanny Fischer

Fanny Fischer ( born September 7, 1986 in Potsdam ) is a German canoeist. In 2008 she was Olympic champion in canoe racing.

The FIVB World Sportswoman of the KC Potsdam won the bronze medal in the double kayak over 200 m at the 2005 World Championships. In the Canoe World Championships in 2007 in Duisburg she could win gold in pairs with Nicole Reinhardt on two distances. In 2008 she qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where she went to the start at two and four kayak. In four of the 500 - meter distance they won with Nicole Reinhardt, Katrin Wagner -Augustin and Conny Waßmuth the gold medal in the pairs with Reinhardt they finished fourth.

After they had announced a break from competition in May 2011, she was on her 25th birthday via press release their retirement from competitive sport known to devote full attention to their studies in sports therapy and prevention.

Fanny Fischer is the daughter of Olympic swimming champion Sarina Hülsbeck and four times the canoe world champion Frank Fischer and the niece of the eight-time Olympic canoe champion Birgit Fischer.

She lives since 2008 together with the Olympic canoe champion and world champion Ronald Rough.
