Fanny Morweiser

Fanny Morweiser ( born March 11, 1940 in Ludwigshafen, Germany) is a German writer.

Curriculum vitae

Fanny Morweiser visited in Ludwigshafen, the former " old and modern language school in Bismarck Street " and then studied at the Free Academy of Art Mannheim main compartments drawing, painting and sculpture to illustrate with the aim of books. When she sent the Diogenes Verlag some drawings, which it attached the text of the book yet to be written, although they came from the publisher less, but liked the text. From him her first novel Lalu Lalula, poor little Ophelia, which appeared in the fall of 1971 was 1971. The book then attracted much attention in the German press, and even Der Spiegel, the writer in a greater contribution to his readers before. Over the following decades, Fanny Morweiser wrote other novels and short stories. To date, her body of work grew to thirteen volumes.

In addition to her work as a writer Fanny Morweiser continued to work as a visual artist in Mosbach. Morweisers husband Christian Morweiser was a judge at the district court Mosbach.

Findings and Awards

The author also learned outside the German-speaking world recognition. Her first two novels have been translated into Polish mid-1970s. Some of her short stories from the anthology " The Taxi Dancer " appeared in the late 90s in various American and Canadian literature yearbooks. In 2002 was appointed to the post of " Deidesheimer tower scribe " Fanny Morweiser of the " Foundation for the promotion of literature in the Palatinate " for two years.
