Fara, Orkney

The island of Fara ( Foerey - "Sheep Island" ) belongs to the archipelago of Orkney about 30 km north of Scotland. In the archipelago, it is between the islands of Hoy and Flotta in Scapa Flow. The island is 295 ha in size and uninhabited since 1947.

During World War II went on from here barrage balloons.

The wind power project of 2010 provides for the construction of wind turbines on Fara.
