Faraj Garayev

Fərəc Qara Qarayev oglu (Russian Фарадж Караевич Караев / Faradsch Karajewitsch Karajew; born December 19, 1943 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani composer.

Qarayev studied at the State Conservatory in Baku composition with his father, the famous composer Qara Qarayev. Here he taught after the completion of studies from 1966 to 2003 composition, orchestration and counterpoint. In addition, since 1999 he is professor at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. Since 2003 he has been a professor at the National Conservatory of Kazan ( Tatarstan, Russia).
