Farchtensee
The Farchtensee is a lake in the Gail Valley Alps, near the Weissensee. The lake is largely undeveloped in a protected area of 190 hectares ( Gazette No. 85/1970 ). Its catchment area is approximately 8.64 km ².
Detected in fish species are:
- Pike (Esox lucius),
- Chub ( Leuciscus cephalus ),
- Carp ( Cyprinus carpio),
- Roach ( Rutilus rutilus )
- Rudd ( Scardinius erythrophthalmus )
- Tench ( Tinca tinca ) and
- Perch (Perca fluviatilis).
The lake is home to Carinthia's highest crayfish occurrence (Astacus astacus ).
