Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar ( Urdu: فرہان اختر; Hindi: फ़र्हन अख्तर; born January 9, 1974 in Bombay ) is an Indian actor and film director of Bollywood film.

Biography

Family

Farhan Akhtar is the son of screenwriter, poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar and screenwriter Honey Irani. He is also the grandson of Urdu poet Nisar Akhtar January. His stepmother is the actress Shabana Azmi. His sister Zoya Akhtar is also a director.

Career

His directorial debut was in 2001 with the Akhtar Dil Chahta Hai. The film was a great success.

Although the next project Lakshya (2004 ) was not a box-office hit, but brought the critics on his side.

In 2006 he turned the remake of the classic Don in 1978 under the name of Don - The Chase Begins Again. The time occupied with Amitabh Bachchan starring in the remake took Shah Rukh Khan.
