Fariba Rezayee

Friba Razayee (born 3 September 1985) is an Afghan judoka. Together with Robina Muqimyar 2004, when she was the first Afghan woman ever took part in the Olympic Games.

Razayee fled during the rule of the Taliban with her family to Pakistan. There she first came into contact with martial arts and started boxing. After returning to their home in 2002, she moved to judo and from 2003 began to prepare for the Olympics.

At the Olympic Games in Athens Razayee stepped up to middleweight. In the first round she met on 18 August 2004 on the Spanish Vice - European Champion Cecilia Blanco and succumbed after 45 seconds with ippon.
