Farsta (borough)

Farsta is one of Stockholm's suburbs south of the city and has approximately 45,000 inhabitants.

Farsta is predominantly residential area. Farsta center, inaugurated on 23 October 1960, was the direct continuation of planning and architectural Vällingby Centre ( inaugurated in 1956 ). Client and architect were, as in Vällingby Centrum, the local housing association Svenska Bostäder and the architectural firm Backstroem & Reinius. After extensive renovation and extension work from 1998 to 1999 Farsta Centrum today (2007) is Stockholm's largest shopping center.
