Farther Along (song)

Farther Along is a gospel that deals with the plight of the world and the hope of the Christian faith.

Formation

The song was written in 1911 by Rev. WA Fletcher. It was recorded mainly in the country scene, particularly in the direction of bluegrass. The song was also used by Johnny Cash on the album Personal File and Farther Along ( The Gospel Music Of Johnny Cash Album Version) carried forward ( Label: Gaither Music, (C) 2007 Spring House Music Group ASIN: B0016FSCC6 ). Other well-known performers are James Carson, Mississippi John Hurt, Van Dyke Parks and Kim Fowley.
