Fast of the Firstborn

The fast of the firstborn is the obligation of every Jewish firstborn (Heb. Bechor ) to fast on the day before Passover, the feast of the Exodus from Egypt.

Reason is the thanks that the Israelite firstborn were spared in the tenth plague, as the firstborn of the Egyptians died.
