My Two Dads ( Fathers' Day ) is an American comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman from the year 1997. The film is a remake of the French film Two great pranksters with Gérard Depardieu in the year 1983. The main roles were played by Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and Nastassja Kinski.

Action

Scott Andrews, the underage son of Collette Andrews, leaves the family to follow the band Sugar Ray. Colette's clumsy husband sets out to search for the boy. Collette asks her former partner, the lawyer Jack Lawrence and the neurotic Dale Putley, the boy looking. Each of the men is lying to you, he would be the father of Scott.

The men get to know and work after some time together. You can find Scott and bring him home. Scott says each of the men in private, he was his real father.

James Berardinelli described on ReelViews seeing the film as a " waste of time " and the comedy as one of the most disappointing films of the year 1997. He wondered how it would be possible if so many " talents " as Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, Ivan Reitman and Joel Silver were involved and strongly criticized the screenplay.

Roger Ebert described the comedy in the Chicago Sun-Times on May 9, 1997 as " brainless " ( brainless ).

The film was shot in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Reno ( Nevada). His cost of production was estimated at 85 million U.S. dollars. The film played in theaters in the USA about a 28.66 million U.S. dollars. In Germany, approximately 101,000 moviegoers were counted.

In the film, the real existing music group Sugar Ray occurs. Mel Gibson has a cameo as a piercer.
