Fay-Ann Lyons

Fay- Ann Lyons- Alvarez (born 5 November 1980) is a trinidianische Soca musician. She is also known under the pseudonyms Lyon Empress, Mane the Matriarch and Silver Surfer.

Life

Lyons was born in Point Fortin, daughter of soca musician Austin " Super Blue " Lyons and soca musician Lynette "Lady Gypsy " Steele. Since 2002 she has been active as a singer and songwriter in the Soca scene. In addition to her solo career, Lyons was also a regular member of soca bands. From 2002 to 2005 she worked as a singer for the band Invazion. On December 23, 2006, she married the soca musician Ian " Bunji Garlin " Alvarez. Since 2008 she is a member of the Asylum band of her husband. 2009, the daughter Syri was born.

Awards

Fay- Ann Lyons is one of the most successful in terms of awards Soca artists of all time and is the most successful female soca artist. In addition to numerous category wins in the International Soca Awards is three-time winner of the Carnival Road March title and the most successful woman in this discipline. In 2009 she won the International Soca Monarch competition was the first woman.
