Fazal Haq Khaliqyar

Fazal Haq Khaliqyar (* 1934 in Afghanistan; † 16 July 2004 in Holland ) was an Afghan politician.

Political life

He was on May 8, 1990 Prime Minister under the government of Mohammed Najibullah, the Republic of Afghanistan, when he replaced Sultan Ali Kishtmand, who had been appointed two days earlier as Vice President. He was also Minister of Finance. On 8 October 1991, he announced that peace talks between the government and the Mujahideen, which were rejected by the rebels.

On 11 December 1990 President Najibullah opened a national commission headed by Prime Minister Fazal Haq Khaliqyar.Da the regime supportive USSR collapsed in 1991, is Najibullah could no longer hold on 18 April 1992, the forces of Ahmed Shah Massoud and Abdul conquered Rashid Dostum, the capital, Kabul. Khaliqyar went into exile. On April 25, 1992, he was replaced by Abdul Sabur Farid.

On July 16, 2004, he died in the Netherlands at the age of 70 years.
