The FC Amsterdam was a Dutch football club from Amsterdam.

History

The club was established June 20, 1972 by the merger of the professional areas of the company founded in 1902 Blauw Wit BV Amsterdam, founded in 1907 as FC Fortuna Amsterdamsche DWS. For the 1973/74 season was added in the professional arm of De Volewijckers who had in 1920 received the game operation.

The three clubs remained in the amateur exist and exist to this day. The FC Amsterdam took the place in the Eredivisie.

The greatest success of the association was to participate in the UEFA Cup 1974/75. The club made ​​the quarter- finals, then failed but on 1 FC Cologne. 1978 FC Amsterdam dismounted in the Eerste Divisie. Due to lack of viewer popularity, they changed in 1980 in the old stadium of Blauw - Wit. Two years later, in 1982, the club was disbanded.
