FC Arouca

The FC Arouca is a football club based in the Portuguese town of Arouca.

History

The club was founded on 25 December 1951 as Ginásio Clube de Arouca. For a long time the club played unterklassig. First time in 2001 reached the summit in the nationwide III Divisão. After a season of relegation followed. 2003 succeeded the next climb, but this time the club was inferior athletic and increased after only one year again.

After the third ascent in 2007 of FC Arouca master of III Divisão was - Série C and qualified for the II Divisão. In the second year there was also achieved the championship and promotion to the Liga de Honra (Honorary League ).

The club plays its home games out in the 2,500 -seat Estádio Municipal de Arouca.
