FC Balzers

The FC Balzers is the football club of the Liechtenstein Balzers.

History

The FC Balzers was founded on 1 May 1932. With 11 wins in the Liechtenstein Cup FC Balzers is after FC Vaduz the second most successful club in the country. The FC Balzers took twice (1993 and 1997), part of the European Cup Winners' Cup. While he retired in 1997 directly opposite Vasutas Budapest, he reached in 1993 with a 3-1 home win and a 0-0 draw against KS Albpetrol Patos from Albania to the main round, where he retired against CSKA Sofia.

After 14 years of absence in the first league succeeded under coach Michael Nushöhr the renewed rise in highest Amateuerklasse Switzerland.

In September 2012, Mario Frick took over as coach at FC Balzers. This began his career at FC Balzers before he gained fame internationally (including FC Basel, AC Siena).
