FC Inter Sibiu

FC Inter Sibiu was a Romanian football club based in Sibiu. He played from 1988 to 1996 in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A.

History

Inter Sibiu was founded in 1982. The club first played in Divizia C and rose to 1986 in the Divizia B. As early as 1988 succeeded after re- ascent of the jump in the highest Romanian football league that Divizia A. After a 6th place in the 1989/90 season Inter Sibiu celebrated in the following season 1990/91 the greatest successes the club's history: In addition to the 4 place went to the team the Balkans Cup for club teams in the final against Buducnost Titograd.

At the successful year 1991 Inter Sibiu could never build. After a few years in the middle of the Divizia A Inter Sibiu 1995/96 rose from the Divizia B at the end of the season. In 2000, Inter Sibiu was forced to declare bankruptcy. Due to financial difficulties, the team moved on 7 November 2000 after the 14th matchday of the Divizia B from the championship back, but received the youth team mode still upright. A takeover of the club by the city of Sibiu and renamed the " Sport Club Municipal Inter Sibiu " had failed on 6 October 2000, as the old debt claims were not abandoned. In 2003 the club merged with AMSO Sibiu to FC Sibiu.
