FC Istres

The Istres Ouest Provence Football Club is a French football club from the town of Istres, located in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône, between Marseille and Arles, and thus in the countryside Provence.

It was founded in 1920 as Section Sportive Istréenne. This was the name of the club until 1969, he was called Istres Sports and adopted in 1990 to its present name. The club's colors are purple and black; league team plays in the nearby Fos- sur -Mer Stade Parsemain, which has a capacity of 17,000 seats.

Club president is Francis Collado; the first team is coached by José Pasqualetti since April 2010. (August 2013)

League membership

Professional status Istres has only since 1993. First class (Division 1 since 2002 in Ligue 1 renamed) the club played only in the season 2004/05. In the 2009/10 season Istres has returned to the Ligue 2.
