FC Jazz

The FC Jazz Pori is a football club from the city of Pori in Finland, which takes place an internationally renowned Jazz Festival. The club was relegated in 2013 to the second-class Ykkönen on. From 1984 to 1988, between 1991 and 2004 FC Jazz played first-class, winning twice the Finnish championship.

History

The club was founded in 1934, often abbreviated by the name of porin Pallo - Toverit with PPT, founded. PPT joined the Workers Sports Federation TUL, in whose leagues he played the TUL until the unification of gaming operations of the Finnish Football Association with after the war. For years the club played in the second division until 1983 for the first time, the rise in the Mestaruussarja, as it was then called the highest Finnish league, succeeded. 1988 we got off again, but managed after two years the rise. In 1991, the club after the Pori Jazz Festival Jazz was renamed to FC Jazz Pori.

The first Finnish championship was won by FC Jazz 1993. Another title followed in 1996. Though occupied Pori to the main round only second behind the FF Jaro Jakobstad, but after five games of the championship round, the club still conquered the first place. 1995 was also one in the Finnish Cup final but lost against MyPa Anjalankoski 0:1.

2004, the club got serious financial problems. There were high tax debts accrued and other taxes could not be paid. Also, sporty things went downhill and the club finished the season in 13th place in the relegation place. After a 0-1 and a 2-2 draw against IFK Mariehamn in the relegation Pori dismounted. Before the start of the 2005 season came for the club because of its financial problems, the end. The club started then in 2006 with his former junior team in the sixth league. As of 2009, the FC Jazz played mediocre. 2013 succeeded the way into the quarter-finals of the Finnish football Cup and after a 2-2 draw and a 2-0 in the relegation over Ekenäs IF promotion to the second division.

Women's Soccer

The women's football department was spun off in 1989 at the club Nice Futis Pori. The team plays in the highest league in Finland, the Naisten Liiga.

Bandy and ice hockey
