FC Lahti

FC Lahti is a Finnish football club, which was formed in 1996 through the merger of Reipas Lahti and FC Lahti Kuusysi. The club played from 1999 to 2010 and again since 2012 in the top Finnish league, the First Division.

History

Lahti Reipas reached his greatest success in the 1960s and 1970s, when it was Finnish champion three times and seven times won the national cup. Between 1981 and 1991, Lahti Kuusysi five times champions and Cup Winners' Cup twice.

At the time of the merger in 1996, both clubs played in the second-rate Ykkönen, 1998 Get your FC Lahti promotion to the First Division, where he was a third party achieved its best ever placing in the 2008 season. In 2002, he stood in the cup final, which was lost against FC Haka with 1:4. His first title after the merger was won by FC Lahti in 2007 in the League Cup, in which he had been in the final in 2004 and 2005.

As a third in the Championship FC Lahti took part in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League 2009/10. After victories against Dinamo Tirana and ND Gorica the team eliminated in the third round against FC Bruges.
