FC Lusitanos

The Lusitano FC is an Andorran football club. Because of its main sponsor, the construction company Construccions La Posa SL, the club is officially called Construccions La Posa Lusitano FC. It was founded by Portuguese immigrants, who make up about six percent of the population of Andorra.

History

Lusitano is one of the younger representatives of the Andorran football club and took 1999/2000 for the first time participate in the game mode. Right away the championship succeeded in Segona Divisió and thus promotion to the Primera Divisió.

There you had while competing in the relegation play at the end of the season, however, came with four wins and two draws where the defense of descent. In the coming years you had to compete there in the relegation playoffs, but the descent could be averted each.

In the 2001 /02 season FC Lusitano the hitherto biggest success in their history, as you could win with a 2-0 win against Inter Club d' Escaldes the Copa Constitució. 2005/ 06 managed the club than in fourth at the end of the regular season for the first time to participate in the championship playoffs, but there had been at the beginning too high residue to have a chance at the title. 2011/12, the club was able to win the first championship in club history.
