FC SKVO Rostov-on-Don

The FK SKA Rostov (Russian ФК СКА Ростов - на - Дону transcribed Futbolny club Sportiwny club Armii Rostov -na- Donu, on German Sports Club of the Army Rostov-on- Don ) is next to the FK Rostov the great football club based in the Russian city of Rostov-on- Don. Largest club successes were the runner-up in the Soviet football championship in 1966 and winning the Soviet Cup competition in 1981. Was in the years 1969 and 1971 was also the team in the Cup final. Currently the club plays in the third highest Russian league, in the 2nd Division - South Season.

History

The club was founded as RODKA (Russian РОДКА СКВО ( Ростовский окружной Дом Красной Армии Северо - Кавказского военного округа ) ) on 27 August 1937. In 1954 it was renamed the ODO (Russian ОДО ( Окружной Дом офицеров ) ), 1957 in Skwo. His current name borne by the club since 1960.

SKVO rose in 1958 in the Russian B league and a year later to the highest Soviet League, where the team played until 1973, 1966 and 1959, second in 1960, 1963 and 1964 in fourth.

The time from the 1970s to the end of the Soviet Union was marked by several off and on again rises between the two top divisions. In the 1990s, it went on for some years to the 3rd league and the amateur class down. 2002, 2007 and 2008, the club played in the 2nd Russian league, the 1st Division, but for the 2009 season, the club did without a license for the 1st Division and went voluntarily into the 2nd Division South Season.
