As 1931/32 the new league system with National League and first introduced to 4th league was, FC Solothurn just missed the National League and played in the first league since then with some stays in the National League B.

This was followed by two heavy NLB and 2001 seasons, the descent into the first league.

Stadium

After the establishment in 1901 was one of the main difficulties of the association is to find a suitable football ground. In Solothurn and Zuchwil many different fields served as playgrounds. 1930 he acquired the club 30,000 sqm land in " Brühl ", the west of Solothurn. Here the stadium Solothurn was inaugurated on August 9, 1931. It consisted of the main square, on three sides surrounded by standing ramps, and a wooden grandstand building with dressing rooms and restaurant in the West. It then lay 4 grass courts as a training ground.

1973, in a time of great financial hardship, sold the FC Solothurn its stadium with 5 football fields in the 11- storey residential zone at a fraction of the value to the municipality Solothurn. These pledged for denying maintenance and to provide the FCS the privilege to use. Some years later, the city built here on the surface of two football fields, the new school house Brühl.

1992/93 was a stand attachment with additional dressing rooms and various facilities. 2003, the new grandstand was built east, equipped with 1'361 bucket seats from the old " Maladière ", the stadium of Neuchatel Xamax.

Since 2009, the stadium has Solothurn west of the grandstand on an artificial turf field that is homologated for championship games.

The stadium Solothurn has 533 covered seats, in 1363 uncovered seats and 4400 standing places and thus a capacity of 6300 seats. The stadium record of 6750 spectators was set up on 1 March 1998 against FC Basel.
