FC Spartak Yerevan

The FC Araks Ararat was an Armenian football club from the town of Ararat. The club played in the Bardsragujn chumb and was previously known as FC Ararat cement. He won two titles, one as cement and the other as Araks.

Club history

The club was founded in 1960 as FC Ararat and Ararat was in town located ( not to be confused with the FC Ararat Yerevan ). At the beginning of the first Armenian football championship in 1992, the club was renamed to FC Ararat cement. 1998 won cement both the championship and the cup. The next year, cement came with 2 points difference from the championship to FC Shirak Gyumri and landed behind Ararat in third place. Spite of this, the association to defend the trophy.

The following year, cement was renamed again, and this time gave him a more original name. The new name of the association would be FC Araks Ararat. Araks played this season very well and won the championship. After this success, the club's management moved the club under a new name to Yerevan; FC Spartak Yerevan ( Yerevan, Spartak this would later merge with Bananz Yerevan ). At the same time Araks Ararat was built in the town of Ararat again, but had to settle in the lowest division of the Armenian football.

Around the year 2003, the club was in a financial crisis, and in 2005 left the club's stage.
