FC Tekstilshchik Kamyshin

The FK Tekstilschtschik Kamyshin (Russian Текстильщик Камышин ) is a Russian football club from Kamyshin.

History

The club was founded in 1956. Tekstilschtschik Kamyshin was after the collapse of the Soviet Union, one of the founding members of the newly created Russian Supreme League and spent 1992 to 1996 five years in the top Russian football league. In the 1993 season the club achieved fourth place in the first Russian football league as the best result in their history. This success Tekstilschtschik took part in the UEFA Cup 1994-95 season and reached the second round in which they lost to FC Nantes. In 1997, the team participated in the championship of the first division in part ( second division ), but immediately had the bitter passage into the second Russian Division ( third tier ) compete. 2007, the team was relegated from Kamyshin from the Russian amateur football league and lost by the professional status. Since 2009, the club will only participate in the regional championship of the Volgograd Oblast.
