History

In April 2002, the former FIFA referee Adrian Porumboiu submitted to the owner of the company Cerealcom, Gheorghe Strungariu, a takeover bid for Sportul Municipal Vaslui, an association to this financed and fought under coach Adrian Hârlab in Divizia C for promotion to the second division. Strungariu declined the offer, even though the club was in financial difficulties and both players and coaches could not pay on time. In addition to three players also Hârlab left the club in early May 2002. Sportul Municipal successfully at the end of season 2001 /02 not prevail against Poli Unirea Iaşi and was due to the withdrawal of the team from the field during the 26th match day also with a ten-point deduction punished. The local authorities lost interest in the debt-ridden club and offered instead the winner of Season Divizia D from the county of Galaţi and winner of relegation, Victoria Galaţi, to play its third home league games in Stadionul Municipal Vaslui.

Under the leadership of Marius Stan, the former President of Oţelul Galaţi and AS Rocar Bucharest, then was formed in July 2002, the new club Fotbal Club Vaslui. First coach of the team, which consisted mainly of former players of Dunărea Galaţi, Ioan Sdrobiş was. Although at the end of the first half of the season 2003/04 Neuaufsteiger was on the second place, it was on 29 December 2003 again a president and change of trainer: for President Iordachi came Eugeniu Goicea from Ploiesti to the club tip and with Gabriel Stan was a new head coach as the successor for Gigi ion. After the club management could not agree on contract details with individual Matei, he left the club on 20 April 2004 and was replaced by Ioan Sdrobiş. With this, the FC Vaslui managed second place in his first season behind second division Poli Unirea Iaşi. Sdrobiş led the team in the following season top of the table before he was released on 30 November 2004, as he had been absent before the away game against Gloria Buzău for the second time in the course of the first round without written certificate of the team. As the successor to Mircea Rednic was brought on 14 January 2005, with the relay victory, and that promotion to the top Romanian league, which Divizia A, succeeded. The FC Vaslui became the first team in Romania, who played first class within three years after its founding.

During the ascent trainer celebrations Rednic announced that he would leave the club because he would be an offer from a Belgian club. On June 16, 2005 Basarab Panduru was presented as his successor, but could only reach a draw in the first five games of the season 2005/ 06. On 5 July 2006 Gheorghe Mulţescu was introduced as the new coach, who, however, resigned immediately after the home game against Politehnica Iaşi on 24 September 2006. From the tenth round of the 2006/07 season coached Viorel Hizo the club. On 7 June 2007 he was replaced by Dorinel Munteanu, who was signed as player-coach. Munteanu's contract was terminated on 31 March 2008 and Emil Săndoi committed as a coach for the last eight season games. On June 10, 2008 Hizo returned and signed a two-year contract, the club had to but after the first 13 games of the season 2008 /09 leave. His successor was November 1, 2008 Viorel Moldovan. As Adrian Porumboiu, the patron of the association, had repeatedly expressed regarding a possible withdrawal from the championship after the end of the 2008/09 season, Moldovan released his contract on 26 May 2009 to early. Then took Cristian Dulca, who was previously Hizo and Moldovan assistant coach, until 20 September 2009, the Office of the Chief coach. After Dorin Zotincă, who had cared for FC Vaslui in a cup and championship game, the team was coached by the end of September 2009 by Marius Lăcătuş. This terminated his contract after losing the Cup final in May 2010 in order to draw in the summer of 2010 to his daughter to Spain can. As successor was presented on 14 June 2010, the Spaniard Juan Ramón López Caro, who was suspended on 8 October 2010 and replaced again by Viorel Hizo.
