FC Waidhofen/Ybbs

The FC Waidhofen / Ybbs is a football club based in the Lower Austrian town of Waidhofen an der Ybbs. The team played from 1993 to 2011 in the Regional League East, the third- highest division in Austria.

History

The FC Waidhofen / Ybbs created in 1973 from a merger of the two clubs Waidhofner 1 Waidhofner Sports Club and Union Waidhofen. After 1976, the club was able to secure the Lower Austrian state championship for the first time he rose to the third-class Regional League East, where he could stay in until the temporary dissolution of the League in the season 1979 /80.

After the reintroduction of the 1985 Regional Waidhofnern succeeded with the second winning the national championship in 1993 the return to season 1993 / 94th Since that time, the club will now continuously at the Regional part, it reached 2003/ 04 with second place behind the SC -ESV Parndorf 1919, the best result until recently.

In the 2009/10 season, the team had recorded the biggest success in club history: Masters of Regional League East.

For financial reasons, the club decided in the summer of 2011 volunteered to descend from the RLO. The entire team then left the club which was on the verge of dissolution. For financial reasons, the SC Waidhofen was founded, which is immediately entered into a lottery syndicate with FC Waidhofen. Under the name SG Waidhofen / Ybbs, the club currently plays in the 2nd class Ybbstal, the lowest division of the Lower Austrian Football Association.

Stadium

The club plays its home matches at the Alps stadium in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. The stadium was the beginning of the new millennium completely renovated and has a capacity of 3,000 seats.
