FC Zhemchuzhina-Sochi

The FK Zhemchuzhina Sochi (Russian Футбольный клуб Жемчужина - Сочи ) is a Russian football club was established in 1991 from the resort of Sochi on the Black Sea, who played in the top Russian league from 1993 to 1999.

History

Around the turn of the year 1990/91 was the club on the initiative of itself located in Winter Holidays coach of Siberian second division Absteigers Kuzbass Kemerovo, arsenic Naidenow, by the City Council Sochi - the mayor became president of the new club - was established and a local hotel called Zhemchuzhina. The club was named after the hotel, whose name means pearl. Naidenow became the first coach of the club and remained so until 1997.

In 1991, the club participated in the last season of the Soviet third league season "East". Although he was not approved for the qualifying round for the new Russian league ( but one of the seasons of the second Russian league assigned ), but was able to rise in the first year. Zhemchuzhina played seven years in the Premjer league, but placed himself while never better than in the middle and usually had to fight against relegation. Zhemchuzhina is number 17 of the all-time best list of Premjer League ( as of end of 2008 season ).

After relegation, the club lost almost all players, but could not buy adequate replacement due to significant financial difficulties, so the team further descent directly to the third tier. Briefly, the club in the third division was able to stabilize, while the 2003 season but the club was already largely insolvent and dissolved after the season.

The club was refounded by Naidenow 2007. Zhemchuzhina was inducted into the Russian amateur class. It succeeded the immediate promotion to the second division, where the team of the Black Sea coast spent two seasons. 2009, the championship was won in the " South " and celebrated the rise related to the 1st Division.
