Feather Bonnet

The Feather Bonnet was a headdress of the Scottish regiments from the Highlands to "Full Battle Dress ", the parade uniform, which took until the beginning of the first world war use. Today it is often worn by the pipers and drummers of the pipe bands (bagpipe groups).

The Feather Bonnet is made of ostrich feathers, which are attached to a supporting structure made of wire and an adjustable leather strap to accommodate various head sizes and shapes. The Bonnet is on the right side four spring tails ( tails) for enlisted men and five for sergeants and officers. It is widely carried slightly above the nose and inclined to the right two fingers. The visual effect is that of bearskin, both should make the carrier look bigger and more impressive.
