Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada

The Federación Española de Deportes de Montaña y Escalada ( FEDME; translated: Spanish Association for mountaineering and climbing Porter species) is the national alpine club in Spain.

The organization was originally on 1 July 1922 as the " Federación Española de Alpinismo " founded and was now also the name of " Federación de Montañismo " (Eng. Spanish Mountaineering Federation ) (German: Mountaineering Federation ).

Purpose of the Association is to protect the alpine mountain range, the care of mountain huts and alpine excursions, the entertainment of the GR- distance hiking trails as well as the care of mountain and winter sports, including mountain running, mountain climbing, hiking, snowshoeing and ski mountaineering. In the sport of ski mountaineering the FEDME also manages the Spanish national team and puts it on.
