Federal Heights is a Statutory City in Adams County in the U.S. state of Colorado, United States, with 11,467 inhabitants ( 2010). The catchment area of the city is 4.7 km ².

History

1927 bought a staff Colorado & Southern Railroad approximately 2.5 acres of land along the Federal Boulevard, which ushers in the further course to Denver. This and the fact that the place slightly above Denver, led to the naming of Federal Heights. In the late 1930s, 34 people lived in the town, which was declared a town in 1977. Federal Heights housed since the 1930s, the Federal Heights Airport, were formed on the particular numerous pilots for their efforts in World War II. The airport was closed in 1961 after the nearby Broomfield he could not withstand the competition with the Jefferson County Airport.
