Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center ( FLETC ) is a training center for 82 American police forces of the Federation as well as some international police authorities. Current (fifth ) head of agency is Connie L. Patrick, FLETC Director (since 29 July 2002).

The main administration and largest campus is located in Glynco (Georgia, a neologism of the words Glynn County, Georgia ) near the port city of Brunswick ( Georgia) between Savannah (Georgia ) and Jacksonville (Florida ). In addition to the Glynco FLETC operates two other training facilities in Artesia (New Mexico) and Charleston (South Carolina).

The training center is managed since 2003 by the Department of Homeland Security of the United States ( Department of Homeland Security, DHS) in Washington.

The schools have been constantly expanding since its creation, especially after the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.
