Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio

The Italian Ice Sports Federation ( Federazione Italiana Sport del Italian Ghiaccio or short FISG, literally translated: Italian Federation for the ice ) was established in November 1926 in Milan by the merger of three existing associations. These included the Italian skating federation ( Federazione Italiana Pattinaggio ), the Italian Hockey Federation ( Federazione Italiana di hockey) and the Italian Bobsleigh Federation ( Federazione Bob Club d' Italia ). The FISG today is the Italian national governing body for the sports on ice hockey, curling, speed skating, figure skating, short track speed skating and curling. The association is a member in the various international federations, as eg in the International Ice Hockey Federation ( IIHF ).
